Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

ShiaNotes (shianotes.com) is a free collection of references, scans and articles about the Ahlulbait (ع). This page explains what information is collected when you use the site and how it is used.

Reading the site

You can read everything on ShiaNotes without an account. We do not ask for your name, email or any other personal details just to browse.

Comments, questions and feedback

If you send a comment, a question about a reference or feedback, we store what you type: your message, and a name or contact detail only if you choose to give one. Comments are shown publicly only after review. Your contact detail is never shown publicly and is used only to reply to you.

Search words

To learn which topics readers look for, ShiaNotes keeps the words typed into the site search and the AI box, and which topics are opened. Only the words are kept: no name, email, IP address or account is attached to them.

Settings saved on your device

The site remembers small preferences on your own device (browser storage), such as your chosen language and colour theme. This stays on your device and is not used to identify you.

Advertising

ShiaNotes may show ads from Google AdSense to help cover the cost of running the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings.

Translation and AI features

When you choose another language, the text on the page is sent to a translation service to be translated. When you use Ask AI, your question is sent to an AI service to produce an answer. Please do not type private personal information into these features.

Third-party links

Some references link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

Children

ShiaNotes is a general reference site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
