About ShiaNotes
ShiaNotes is a free research website that collects quotations, historical reports and book scans about the Ahlulbait (peace be upon them), the family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).
What you will find here
- Quran & Ahlulbait: verses and their explanations in the books of tafsir.
- Notes: topics with references from Sunni and Shia books on history, hadith and narrators.
- Articles: longer research pieces.
- Books Index: every book quoted on the site, with all its references.
How references are presented
Every reference gives the book name, volume and page, followed by an English translation and the original Arabic text. Where possible, a scan of the printed page is attached, so readers can check the source for themselves. Translations are written by ShiaNotes.
Our approach
ShiaNotes aims to present what the classical books actually say, with clear citations, so readers can study the evidence and reach their own conclusions. Disputed historical events are presented as reports from the sources. We welcome corrections: if you find a mistake in a reference, translation or page number, please tell us.
