Quran 5:55 Mawla Ali giving ring (zakat) while praying
Quran 5:55
But rather, only Allah is your Guardian and His Rasool and those who
believe, those who are establishing the Prayers and are paying the Zakat while
bowing.
Quran 5:55: Imam Ali (a.s.) Gives His Ring in Charity While Bowing
Al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, vol. 7, pp. 129–130, Hadith 6228
Ammar ibn Yasir narrated that a person in need approached Imam Ali (a.s.) while he was bowing in a voluntary prayer. Imam Ali (a.s.) removed his ring and gave it to him.
He then informed the Prophet ﷺ of what had happened, whereupon the verse was revealed:
“Your guardian is only Allah, His Messenger, and those who believe, who establish prayer and give charity while bowing.” (Quran 5:55)
The Prophet ﷺ then recited the verse and said:
“Whoever I am his master (mawla), Ali is his master. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him and be the enemy of whoever is his enemy.”

Quran 5:55: Imam Ali (a.s.) Gives His Ring While Bowing
Al-Qurtubi in al-Jami' li-Ahkam al-Qur'an, under the commentary of Quran 5:55, pp. 54–55
Al-Qurtubi records a narration from Ibn Abbas stating that Quran 5:55 was revealed concerning Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), and he states that Mujahid and al-Suddi also held this view.
He then relates that a beggar asked for assistance in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but no one gave him anything. Imam Ali (a.s.) was praying and was in the state of bowing, with a ring on his right hand. He gestured toward the beggar with his hand, allowing him to take the ring.
Al-Kiya al-Tabari said that this demonstrates that a small action does not invalidate the prayer, since Imam Ali (a.s.) gave his ring in charity while bowing without invalidating his prayer.
He further explained that the words, “and give zakat while they are bowing”, demonstrate that voluntary charity can also be called zakat, because Imam Ali (a.s.) gave his ring in charity while bowing.

Mawla Ali give his ring in zakat while bowing in prayers.

Tafsir al-Baghawi (Ma'alim al-Tanzil), vol. 3, p. 73 (Dar Taybah, Riyadh, ed. Muhammad 'Abdullah al-Nimr et al.)
Al-Suddi explained that the verse "and those who believe, who establish prayer and give zakat while they are bowing" refers to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.). While he was bowing in prayer in the mosque, a beggar came by, and he gave him his ring.
